Information regarding the submission of residence permit applications by companies with Hungarian national economic interest (pritority employer)

If the foreign employee's application for a residence permit is submitted by the priority employer through the Enter Hungary program, from now on the client's written consent is sufficient without consular signature authentication.

To the attention of students

The visa decision of applicants for educational purposes, who will stay in Hungary for more than 90 days, is made by the competent authority in Hungary. The Consulate is not authorized to request to speed up this process. After the relevant documents are submitted, the waiting period is 15 days according to the law, and this period may be extended depending on the workload or due to missing documents.

New appointment system for D-visas

Please kindly note that as of 1st April, 2022 appointments for residence permit (D visa) applications can only be booked in the online appointment system by purpose of stay (work, study, Enter Hungary program, D-visa application with signature authorization, etc.). In case you choose the wrong type of purpose of stay in the appointment system, we cannot receive your application when you come to the Consulate and you have to book a new appointment.

New entry rules to Portugal (negative PCR test or antigen test AND vaccination certificate)

Due to the rising cases of Covid-19, travelers to Portugal, who have either EU Covid digital certificate, or a digital certificate recognized by the EU, or a certificate stating that the passenger has had all the vaccines approved by EU and this certificate is recognized by the EU and Turkey in reciprocity, will also have to produce a negative PCR test within 72 hours prior to the flight or an antigen test 48 hours prior to the flight in order to enter the territory of Portugal.
