From 1 January 2018, it is possible to issue Hungarian registry certificates (birth, marriage, death, registered partnership) at the Consulate General at the request of the client. If the registry event is listed in the Electronic Registry System (Elektronikus Anyakönyvi Rendszer – EAK system), the certificate will be prepared once the application is submitted. If the registry event is not yet in the Electronic Registry System, the Consulate General sends the application to the competent Hungarian registrar, who first records it in the EAK system. The certificate can be issued afterwards.
The issue of the certificate is free of charge.
Issuing Hungarian certificate applications can be submitted only in person by prior appointment. Appointments can be made via the online reservation system.
The use of the online reservation system and making appointment is free of charge.
