Applications can be submitted only in person by prior appointment. Appointments can be made via the online reservation system.
The use of the online reservation system and making appointment is free of charge.
In the authentication clause, the consul certifies that the text of the translation is identical, both in content and in meaning, to the original text. Documents bearing an authentication clause by the consul can be used as a certified translation in proceedings before any Hungarian authority.
Please note that:
- the consul may refuse to authenticate a translation, which is not related to consular activities and require specialized expert language skills
- the Consulate General only performs authentication of translation related to consular procedures. If you want to use a translation in Hungary, but it is related to non-consular procedures, please contact the National Translation and Translation Certification Office (Országos Fordító- és Fordításhitelesítő Iroda) (http://www.offi.hu/).
